Right, I hear you, but understand that without being able to see your computer or code I can only make best guesses about what the problem might be.

Were you able to see if the block's name is being set properly by your en_US.lang file? Alternatively if you could provide a screenshot of your project structure in eclipse and the code in your ExampleMod.java file (similar to the screenshot just after the ore texture in the tutorial) that would give me a better chance to verify other possible problems.
